The Ambitious Folee Hall

Texas State University's Folee Hall has already accomplished big things at the young age of 19;
from entering college with 31 credits already under her belt, to being named Director of Media, Marketing and Sales at the University Star her freshman year. On track to graduate in 2019, Folee hopes to someday apply her degree in Public Relations to non-profit organizations, preferably one where she can fulfill her love of working with people.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1998, Folee was named after her mother's favorite childhood doll and played every sport but softball growing up. She is interested in travel, politics, geography and has a 2-year-old sister named Sage. Folee hopes to do much more traveling, but has already been to Boston, Florida, California, Mexico and Jamaica.

In fact, Folee was at the Boston Marathon during the infamous bombings in 2013. She and her family were there in support of her mom who was competing, in honor of her late grandmother, Iris, who was an avid runner and had qualified in the race before tragically passing two days later. The bombs were detonated near the finish line right around the time her grandmother would have been finishing, but since her mother was running instead, Folee and her family were further back when the explosions went off and were thankfully unharmed.

At only 19, Folee has had the opportunity to travel, network and gain real-world experience, and because of this has found herself in an advantageous position for entering the workforce. She is sure to go far with her admirable work ethic, passion for PR and of course her super cool name. Good luck Folee!

By Iris Gonzalez i_g125@txstate.edu SAN MARCOS, Texas – In observation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, various Texas State students gave their insight to the topics of sexual assault, accountability and consent in student-conducted interviews this April. Sir Isaac Newton once stated that for every action, there is an equal and opposite consequence of that action. She didn’t name names or give details, but the fact still stands that Thompson was assaulted and believes that universities are not doing enough to make sure people like her assailant face the consequences they deserve. “The people committing [sexual assault] know that they won’t be held accountable,” said Thompson. “[Universities] need to start thoroughly investigating the situation and...
