Savvy Madi

22-year-old Madison Elliott is a Senior at Texas State University and will soon be entering the unknown world of life after college.  

Coming into college, Madison wasn't exactly sure what she'd be doing in the future.  She started off with a major in Fashion Merchandising and moved to General Studies to see what else was out there. Through General Studies, Madison felt motivated to move further with her education and decided to choose Public Relations and Mass Communications as her major, keeping a minor in Fashion Merchandising.  

Day to day, Madison enjoys DIY projects, Mexican food and her fur-baby Lulu!  Staying positive and in touch with her faith helps Madison get to where she wants to go.  "Everything happens for a reason" is her quote to live by.  She is currently an intern at Cypress Falls Event Center in Wimberley, Texas and gets to help plan and set up weddings.  Although working with couples can be difficult, Madison finds it rewarding when she sees everything she helped put together successfully play out.

Texas State sexual assault survivors talk accountability, victim blaming

By Iris Gonzalez i_g125@txstate.edu SAN MARCOS, Texas – In observation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, various Texas State students gave their insight to the topics of sexual assault, accountability and consent in student-conducted interviews this April. Sir Isaac Newton once stated that for every action, there is an equal and opposite consequence of that action. Although this is accepted as a law of physics, one Texas State University student believes such is questionable when applied to cases of sexual assault. 21-year-old Biology junior Addison Thompson was sexually assaulted. Iris Gonzalez was born June 1st, 1997 in Laredo, TX. She is a 20-year-old junior at Texas State University majoring in Electronic Media. She is currently interning at KTSW, a campus radio station, where she is getting hands-on experience with producing on-air radio advertisements and writing segments for the station. She recently won a national award for a promotion she did for the  station. In her down time, she enjoys writing fiction and relaxing at home. After graduation, she would like to pursue a career in producing of some sort. She enjoys the idea of her thoughts and ideas coming to life.
