Davis Friedman

The possibilities of being born on a leap year are one in 1,461, but that wasn't the case for little Davis Friedmen. Friedmen's original birth date was Feb. 29, but because of unfortunate reasons Texas Harris Methodist hospital burns down and J.P.S. Hospital comes to the rescue making his grand arrival Feb. 28, 1996. 

 Davis Friedmen is from small town, Burleson, Texas, which he believes no one knows where it is located. Played baseball, basketball and football during his high school years, making the varsity team his junior and senior year for both basketball and baseball.  He continues to have a passion for the sport, umpiring baseball in Austin, Texas, and being a fanatic of 2K and Fancy Footba, to which he has won first place in his league three times. Aside for his passion for sports he enjoys, watching The Office with his two Yorkie, Sady and Max. He has been to almost every state in the U.S. and recently came back from a cruise visiting Conzumel and Jamaica. In the near future Davis Friedmen wishes to work in the field of Public Relations with football players.

Texas State sexual assault survivors talk accountability, victim blaming

By Iris Gonzalez i_g125@txstate.edu SAN MARCOS, Texas – In observation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, various Texas State students gave their insight to the topics of sexual assault, accountability and consent in student-conducted interviews this April. Sir Isaac Newton once stated that for every action, there is an equal and opposite consequence of that action. Although this is accepted as a law of physics, one Texas State University student believes such is questionable when applied to cases of sexual assault. 21-year-old Biology junior Addison Thompson was sexually assaulted. Iris Gonzalez was born June 1st, 1997 in Laredo, TX. She is a 20-year-old junior at Texas State University majoring in Electronic Media. She is currently interning at KTSW, a campus radio station, where she is getting hands-on experience with producing on-air radio advertisements and writing segments for the station. She recently won a national award for a promotion she did for the  station. In her down time, she enjoys writing fiction and relaxing at home. After graduation, she would like to pursue a career in producing of some sort. She enjoys the idea of her thoughts and ideas coming to life.
